Salida Elementary Earns PBIS Platinum Award

Salida Elementary School has earned the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Platinum Award!  This award recognizes the excellence of implementation with fidelity in creating conditions to maximize academic and social behavioral outcomes for all students.  SES Staff were recognized at a recent SUSD Board Meeting and received a framed certificate.

Principal, Ana Garcia, says, "PBIS is not a program, but is really about building a culture of relationships among faculty, staff and students using positive words and expectations.  We have built a calm, caring school atmosphere around being respectful, responsible, and ready.  You can really feel it when you are on campus!"

Learning Director, Rob Erickson and School Counselor, Star Graves have been highly instrumental in launching and implementing PBIS at Salida Elementary.

All schools in the Salida District implement PBIS and have looked to Salida Elementary for examples and implementation ideas.

Congratulations, SES, on this outstanding recognition!
